RUTH ARTHUR

Teaching specialities: Product Making, Materia Aromatica, Engage with Health Professionals, Clinic Orientation

My first encounter with Aminya Natural Therapies was as a student of Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine.  I hold a Bachelor of Education and have a background in the Pharmaceutical Industry, so it was an easy merge to later join the Aminya Team as a teacher and course writer.

I find it extremely rewarding to help new students navigate their way into the world of Natural Therapy.  It is an especially exciting time with the resurgence we are seeing in Australia and across the world towards incorporating Natural Therapies alongside mainstream medicine into our everyday lives.

I look forward to welcoming more students into this growing field.

TIM YOUNG

Teaching Specialities: Anatomy, Physiology & Pathophysiology, Structural Alignment, Musculoskeletal, Cross Fibre/Trigger Point, Remedial Massage, Massage for Athletes.

My background is healthcare, as a Nurse, Massage Therapist, Chiropractor and educator. I have taught Massage students since 2001, for the last 12 years at Aminya.

I am passionate about teaching skills: touch; palpation, modern technique/clinical reasoning, and as much detail about conditions and diagnoses as possible in the time available.

Massage techniques are a mainstay of the clinical tools I’ve used for decades. With simple health promotion, these are powerful interventions to reduce pain, discomfort and increase function/wellness.

I like to walk the dog, ocean swim, cook for family/friends and have been a proficient volunteer Surf Lifesaver for 10 years.
